Ariadna Martinez graduated in Geography (2011) and holds a Master of Science in Marine Science (2014) both by University of Barcelona. Currently is member of Benthic Suspension Feeders group based at the Institute of Marine Science in Barcelona (ICM-CSIC). Her research interests are Antarctic gorgonians as key benthic community structurers and their ecology. Indeed, her MSc thesis research focused on the longevity, the growth and skeleton chemistry of Antarctic gorgonians of the genus Primnoa. She is also actively involved in educational and outreach activities framed in La Caixa – ICM project “El mar a fons”.
